Kynnie Martin

Executive Vice President


Kynnie Martin is the senior foundation representative for Xcel Energy, based in Denver, Colorado. She is responsible for the coordination of statewide corporate social responsibility activities to include grant making, sponsorships, United Way campaign, employee engagement programs and others on behalf of Xcel Energy Foundation.

Kynnie joined Xcel Energy in 2013 to spearhead the company’s veteran hiring program. Kynnie is a U.S. Army veteran, having served five years on active duty as a Military Intelligence officer.  She deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn (formerly Iraqi Freedom) 2005–06 as a platoon leader with the 3rd Infantry Division’s first Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Company (drones). She was honorably discharged as a captain in 2007.

She and her husband, Joel, West Point class of 2002, have two daughters and reside in Wash Park.
