Job Description: 

This position manages, schedules, and trains all bank staff at three different branch locations. The key role of the position is to manage and assure that staff at all locations exhibit professional, first-class customer service standards while maintaining a consistent method of delivery across all bank operations. The AVP is also responsible for the training and supervision of bank staff according to bank policy and procedures and assist with the ongoing training of staff as needed. In addition consults daily with other members of the Bank management team, performs management duties as well as assists customers with day-to-day transaction. 

Areas of Responsibility
  • Ensure that staff exhibit professional, first-class customer service standards while maintaining a consistent method of delivery across all bank operations.
  • Responsible for the training and supervision of bank staff according to bank policy and procedures and assist with the ongoing training of staff as needed or requested.
  • Helps to work with local communities, including schools, churches, libraries and any other partner groups in an effort to promote Young Americans Bank through community outreach.
  • Schedule staff.
  • Check signing authority.
  • Supervise approvals and terminal overrides.
  • Customer issue resolution.
  • Authorize transactions over and above the established limits of tellers.
  • Assists bank customers with other needs such as wire transfers, stop payments, account reconciliation, problem resolution, telephone transfer requests and authorizations, and research requests.
  • Perform management daily work.
  • Sell or buy Federal Funds.
  • Processing and managing overdrafts, return items, and chargeback items.
  • Review and administer the Automated Clearinghouse function of the bank.
  • Serve as back-up for Teller and New Account areas.
  • Order currency and coin.
  • Accountable for all beginning and end of day checklists.
  • Responsible to oversee annual ESCHEAT, dormancy and over 22 letters.
  • Assist with overseeing and managing the bank’s ATM and Debit Card program and reconciliations.
  • Assist with the approval process for loans and credit cards.
  • Develop and maintains comprehensive checklists and training procedures.
  • Assist with the delivery of staff meetings.
  • Participate in departmental plans as related to the goals and objectives established for the bank.
  • Proposes changes to the Vice President of the bank obtain approval prior to implementation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices, theories, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Young Americans Bank’s operating procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Young Americans Bank’s products and services, and customers.
  • Knowledge of effective training techniques and the use of training aids.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with bank operations.
  • Knowledge specifically of ATM, Debit Card, teller and new account operating procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of computer programs as they relate to the bank operations and associated accounting systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to people of all ages including customers, supporters, other members of the bank management team.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in financial procedures.
  • Ability to prepare, monitor, and maintain detailed records and reports.
  • Ability to operate bank equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to exercise excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work Saturdays.
  • Ability to be part of the opening/closing staff rotation.

 

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Compensation/Benefits

Position starts at $50,000 but is commeasurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
