Developmental Disabilities Resource Center is seeking to hire a full-time Employment Specialist/Job Coach to coordinate integrated employment services for people with Developmental Disabilities. Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC) is a nonprofit private corporation which provides services and supports to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1974, we have been providing quality programs and resources to people and their families in Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Summit counties. Areas of Responsibility

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST/JOB COACH 
 

As an Employment Specialist/Job Coach you are responsible for assisting people in obtaining and maintaining meaningful community employment through advocacy, developing career opportunities and situational assessments, providing training, job coaching, and support. 

In addition you would coordinate with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and other entities to maintain employment and create new opportunities for people.  This is a full time, 36 hours per week position, requiring flexibility as shifts vary depending upon the schedule and training needs of each person.  Schedule may include some evenings and weekends.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • This position requires a High school diploma or equivalent.
  • In addition there's a strong preference for the candidate to have two years post-secondary education and a minimum of two years, full-time paid employment in community supported employment, vocational training, regular industry or related field.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • A qualified candidate will have experience with a variety of entry-level positions and the ability to master these jobs efficiently while providing on the job training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • The Employment Specialist will also be required to meet national Certification standards currently being developed as part of the implementation phase of the Employment First law.
