Job Description:

This is a termed, temporary position with a targeted end date of December 2020. There is the possibility for a second, termed extension depending on the project status as it evolves.

Areas of Responsibility

Essential duties:

  • Performs project management work by managing the work of project team members, contractors, and colleagues,under the guidance of project leaders, including project coordination with other museum departments and other internal and external participants and stakeholders.
  • Confers with leadership to maintain and support established project plans and goals, scope of work, and project parameters.
  • Proactively identifies issues, solves problems, and removes barriers to the team’s progress, with a strong toolbox of techniques to help and energize teams to meet deadlines with strong deliverables.
  • Tracks schedules, budgets, work plans, cost estimates, and monitors projects for conformance to approved plans, regulations, and contract specifications and participates in preparing logistical materials including bidding, contracts, and documentation.
  • Effectively and adaptively communicates professionally, written and verbal, with a wide variety of people who themselves have varied communication preferences and cultures. 
  • Engages professionally with others, including community members, to contribute to this creative and community-focused project, including participation in a project’s concept and design development.
  • Be someone who is curious, enjoys trying new techniques and processes, and who is enthusiastic and excited about the opportunity to create new, meaningful experiences for our communities.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3 years’ experience in applicable project management including coordinating, administering and managing complex projects.
  • 3 years’ experience tracking, maintaining, and reporting budget, schedule and project status documentation.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Some evening/night/weekend work may be required.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
Compensation/Benefits

Pay Range:  $58,523 - $76,080
