Job Description: 

The primary goals of this position are as follows: To create a safe and secure milieu that promotes healthy, therapeutic growth and development of the residents. To support individual treatment plans by working with other Treatment Supervisors, Youth Treatment Counselors and Therapists. To apply effective behavioral management techniques and crisis interventions approaches which help to deescalate residents in crisis. Supervise our Youth Treatment Counselors.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Enforcement of DCH policies and procedures.
  • Implementation of DCH treatment and management philosophies.
  • Assume charge of building when assigned as TS on Duty and/or support if alternate TS is assigned this responsibility
  • As TS on Duty ensure safe and effective operation of the Recovery Center, conduct all necessary building checks, and provide shift change information as necessary.
  • Responsible for enforcing all rules and policies while on duty.
  • As TS on Duty, provide supervision and support to YTCs, and communicate any achievements or concerns with their primary supervisor
  • As TS on Duty, organize and assist YTCs in responding to crisis situations.
  • Provide direct supervision to overnight YTCs and/or relief staff, including hiring, training, and addressing supervisory issues.
  • Assist with scheduling of overnight staff to ensure safety and adequate coverage in order to implement treatment plans while maintaining attention to fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide support/assistance with medication distribution, meals, attendances, and scheduling as needed.
  • Attend all assigned meetings.
  • Documentation of all infractions in accordance with procedure.
  • Bachelor degree in related field preferred; 2 years experience working in a mental health setting and prior supervisory experience or 2 years college education plus; 4yrs working in a mental health setting and prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of supervisory skills and ability to develop action plans to address training or disciplinary needs.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, background check with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and FBI. Ability to gain clearance through the Colorado Central Registry of Child Abuse and neglect (TRAILS).
  • Have or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification, QMAP certification, and certification in TCI. Have a clean Motor Vehicle Record and be a Qualified Driver as defined by the DCH Automobile Insurance Policy
  • Must be 21
