The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing domestic payroll, for 250+ employees on a bi-weekly payroll cycle. This position reviews and enters the personnel action form payroll data into our Paycom payroll system, enters, reviews and reconciles all garnishments, payroll tax deductions, benefit deductions and 403(b) contributions.  The Payroll Specialist reconciles quarterly and annual payroll reports with the general ledger.  Responsible for annual W-2’s and 1095’s. 

This position assist employees with payroll related questions as well as assisting with benefits and password resets.  The position provides administrative support to the Controller; duties include cash receipts, journal entries, and reconciliation of payroll related general ledge accounts.

  • Responsible for setting up new hires and employment terminations in Paycom’ payroll time and attendance records
  • Processes benefit deductions, payroll changes, garnishments and wage assessments. Prepares payroll reports; reviews transactions for completeness and accuracy. Processes direct deposit account changes.
  • Reviews data approved by managers and directors in Paycom Time & Attendance, transmits payroll, and reviews processed payroll for any errors.  Prepares payroll journal entry and sends to senior accountant for final positing to general ledger.
  • Reviews payroll registers, quarterly and year-end tax reports. Processes corrections, amendments, W2C’s as needed.
  • Reconciles leave balances, vacation and sick time to the monthly, quarterly and annual Paycom reports.
  • Reconciliation of benefit provider’s billing/invoicing.
  • Implements and maintains all components of payroll system and associated upgrades. Prepares feasibility studies of potential systems modifications and changes.
  • Maintenance of employee profiles and manager security groups in Paycom Time & Attendance.
  • Maintains employee, manager, and administrative access in Paycom.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates payroll business process and documentation of procedures.
  • Responsible for custom payroll reports for management
  • Works closely with Human Resources for benefits administration and policy.
  • Processes all deposits (cash/check/credit), photo copy checks and source documents. Reviews transactions for completeness and accuracy before entering into the financial accounting system.
  • Places office supply order for the organization and enters invoice information into Financial Edge for payment processing.
  • Provides back-up coverage to accounts payable.
  • Provides excellent customer service to staff, customers and all outside contacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 4+ years of full cycle payroll processing, garnishment processing and timekeeping experience
  • Working knowledge of Paycom payroll system
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of FLSA standards and wage and hour regulations
  • Proficient personal computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
