WHO WE ARE: Illuminate Colorado is a statewide nonprofit organization focused on preventing child maltreatment and building brighter childhoods through education, advocacy, and family support. With a research-based approach that emphasizes building Protective Factors in families, Illuminate Colorado works to address systemic and multi-sector issues affecting the wellbeing of children, collaborating with partners at the state and national level to develop powerful programs, policies, and initiatives that keep kids safe. We operate as a strategic partnership between the Colorado Alliance for Drug Endangered Children, Prevent Child Abuse Colorado, the Colorado Chapter of the National Organization for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Sexual Abuse Forever Ending.

ROLE: The Program Associate is responsible for performing tasks and organizing components of program administration and implementation. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs and will work closely with all members of the Program Team.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Oversee coordination of all training courses:
a. Child Welfare Training System – support scheduling and monitoring of offerings, registrations, communication, materials, and data tracking
b. CWTS ECHO Offerings – schedule offerings, presenters, and panelists, and serve as the ECHO coordinator to support facilitator and participants, manage technology, communication, materials, & data
c. Other Courses/Trainings (Circle of Parents Facilitator Trainings, CSA, FASD, etc) – schedule and promote training offerings, manage registrations, data, materials, and communications as needed
d. Conference Planning – support event planning to include securing a conference venue, planning timeline, agenda development, registration, communication, and onsite management

2. Provide program support to the Circle of Parents Colorado Chapter:
a. Manage Circle of Parents Colorado Chapter website
b. Respond to web inquiries and hold initial informational calls
c. Support Family Support Program Manager with process tracking, training coordination and registrations, fee collection, data collection and evaluation, site visit scheduling, etc.

3. Support aspects of the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Curriculum:
a. Coordinate the protective factor mini grants application process including receiving and reviewing requests, staffing requests, developing award letters, and tracking final reports and evaluations
b. Plan meeting / training logistics as needed

4. Provide support for the Child Abuse and Neglect Expert Staffing Program:
a. Support the Director of Programs in processing CANES requests, scheduling consults and experts, execution and follow up of consults
b. Track data and financials, surveys, and reports

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience with demonstrated success in organizing and executing a variety of program tasks is desired.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

This is a full-time position eligible for benefits. Starting salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience in the range of $40,000 - $50,000. Illuminate Colorado offers health and dental benefits as well as participation in a Simple IRA.
