Job Summary

The Senior Marketing Product Owner is the member of the team responsible for defining and prioritizing the agile team's backlog so as to streamline the execution of program priorities, while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for. He or she is responsible for facilitating communication between the team and the stakeholders and ensures the team is building the right product. They describe what should be built and why, but not how.

 

The Product Owner will work with business stakeholders in defining the vision and roadmap for our interactive marketing programs, both online and offline. He or she is a passionate advocate and doer who will see a vision through to completion, engaging with stakeholders, capturing and evaluating their input, prioritizing and working closely with the marketing team to ensure work execution meets expectations.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business associates

  • Serve as "voice of the customer" with delivery teams, representing/reinforcing the customer's perspective throughout the product realization cycle
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and execute against Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
  • Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the Work Stream Backlog and the status of development efforts via Product Demos, Release Plans and other means
Areas of Responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Articulate, elicit and inspire others to execute and support a compelling product vision and strategy 
  • Clearly draw and articulate the boundaries of that vision while providing enough latitude for an Agile team to creatively solve problems 
  • Determine and articulate Minimum Marketable Deliverables. That is, identify those portions of an overall vision that are minimally necessary to achieve Scrum Alliance’s objectives 
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize an Agile teams work backlog 
  • Be available and act as final arbiter to an Agile team on questions 
  • Construct and communicate an Agile team’s product release plan to stakeholders 
  • Plan for and facilitate planning sessions 
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners to manage inter-team dependencies 
  • Elicit customer and stakeholder feedback on the quality and accuracy of delivered product features
  • Remain current in marketing and industry trends 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
Requirements/Qualifications
  • 7+ years relevant experience in leading teams to create effective marketing, user interfaces, and client-focused programs
  • 5+ years relevant business experience and/or previous Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar experience 
  • Experience in user experience (UX) design a plus
