Through our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Staff Secure Residential Unit (SSR), hospital diversion program (New Vistas) and Jefferson Hills Academy, we use some of the most current practices, interventions and protocols to address the complex needs of vulnerable youth and their families.

The Staff Accountant provides assistance to the Controller and CFO in all aspects of Jefferson Hills’ financial operations. The responsibilities and job description of the Staff Accountant closely mirrors that of the Controller in the expectation that the Staff Accountant performs many of the functions of the Controller in his/her stead.


Areas of Responsibility
  • Provides leadership and assists the CFO and Controller in the direction, development, implementation, and administration of policies and procedures encompassing all areas of responsibility within the accounting departments
  • Assists with financial statement preparation processes, reporting, reconciliation, and analysis ensuring accuracy of the monthly and annual financial results as requested
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget, cash flow, revenue & expenditure, debt and capital, other forecasts based on sound, reasonable methodologies as requested
  • Assists with internal and external audit functions; responds promptly to any identified deficiencies
  • Successfully completes all required trainings in a timely manner.
  • Follows and enforces all Jefferson Hills’ Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to confidentiality, sexual harassment/harassment, dual relationships, physical and sexual abuse reporting, Corporate Compliance and Code of Ethics.


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business degree, plus three years of accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience; an additional two years of accounting experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Solid command of GAAP accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or comparable complex spreadsheet software, productivity software; Ceridian, Solomon, and/or medical billing experience a plus
  • Ability to apply skills and critical thinking to contribute to the success of organizational priorities that may lie outside the normal accounting function.
