Over 95% of all businesses identify employee burnout as a serious problem. It’s universal and pervasive with the impact felt even more deeply in the nonprofit sector, especially for development professionals.

We will discuss some of the factors that contribute to employee burnout and will identify what steps can be taken to help staff shift from merely surviving and getting through the next event or program to thriving and enjoying work again.

A’Lisa Tello is the owner and head coach for Pikes Peak Coaching & Consulting providing teambuilding, workshops as well as executive coaching for nonprofit and small businesses. Additionally she does individual coaching focused on career and relationships. She is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach (CliftonStrengths) and trained by Gallup in Q12 (Employee Engagement) and BP10 (Entreprenurial Coaching). Previously she worked with Special Olympics and oversaw the statewide grassroots programs and 100 volunteer leaders for Special Olympics, with an additional 1000+ grassroots volunteers implementing local training and programs.



With an extensive background (over 30 years) in organizing and leading community based programs in Florida, North Carolina and Colorado, A’Lisa strongly believes in the importance and power of the nonprofit sector and continues to donate her time to support missions she is passionate about. Currently A’Lisa volunteers with Inside Out Youth Services serving as the chairperson for the Annual Ally Up Breakfast Fundraiser.
