The Workforce Development Programs (WDP) work group exists to plan, develop, organize, oversee, monitor and set policy for job seekers, employers, and other customers across the state of Colorado according to Federal and State guidelines. This unit also acts as department liaison with various state groups and grants who provide employment and training services including state and county operated offices. Within WDP, the Business Innovation & Strategy (BISU) team exists to provide support to Business Services and Workforce Development Initiatives, technical assistance to both Workforce Regions and industry partners, and conduct workshops and training that assist in promoting and elevating Workforce services and Work-based Learning Initiatives. These efforts aim to ensure that Colorado employers have access to a skilled workforce and that Coloradans have opportunities for meaningful employment. The work unit has total functional responsibility over statewide operation, procedures, and activities as they relate to program areas of responsibility. In addition, the unit is responsible for the maintenance of management and fiscal information necessary to ensure program integrity and compliance with Federal and/or State agencies.
This position is responsible for assisting in coordinating efforts and providing support for multiple grants, such as the CW Step Program, Hospitality Career & Secondary Education Grant (Hospitality Grant), and Work-based Learning & Incentive Program (WBLIP), as well as service delivery for Colorado. Will coordinate with various internal and external partners while performing various process related tasks in the administration of the grants aforementioned. This position provides grant support across program lines and is an integral part of BISU operations. This position can take on grant-related tasks and complete them independently with minimal direction from the Unit Manager and Grant Coordinator. This position also serves in a backup role to the Grant Coordinators that assists with program continuity through staff turnover and also exists to provide a career progression model that prepares staff to take on Grant Coordinator responsibilities.
