Course Description:

Are you trying to complete your organization’s budget and have some questions? What about grant writing? Or are you struggling with telling your organization’s financial story? Maybe you have questions on the Form 990 or tax filing requirements for nonprofits? Or are you confused about when your nonprofit might need an audit? Join several Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) that specialize in nonprofit accounting, audit, and tax and ask them your questions. The session will be an open format allowing attendees to bring their questions and obtain advice from these CPAs.

Nathan Oberle, CPA

Nathan is a CPA specializing in nonprofit financial reporting and compliance. He is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA), and serves on the Nonprofit Working Group. He is currently the Director of Fiscal Services at Hilltop Community Resources. Prior to that, he worked in public-sector audit for a top-10 national accounting firm, as well as provided audit and tax services at a boutique firm in Denver, working with some of the biggest private foundations and public charities in the state. He has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from CU Boulder and an MBA – Finance from Missouri State University.

Patrick Lewis, CPA

Patrick Lewis is an Audit & Assurance Senior Manager at Clark Nuber P.S. based in Bellevue, Washington. He has 12 years of experience in public accounting and focuses on serving clients in the not-for-profit sector across a variety of industries. He has experience performing audits, reviews, and compilation services, internal controls testing and compliance audits of federally funded programs. He enjoys working with a variety of tax exempt organizations with a focus on social services, affordable housing, and life sciences. Patrick resides in Erie, Colorado.  

Hannah DeAlto, CPA

Hannah is a CPA specializing in nonprofit financial management and leadership. Hannah is currently the Controller at Impact Charitable, a Denver-based nonprofit focused on catalyzing philanthropic capital through impact investing and direct cash assistance programs. Prior to this, Hannah served as the Controller at an international nonprofit foundation and Director of Finance at a community food bank. Hannah has a BS and Masters in Accounting from the University of Arizona and is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA) and serves on the Nonprofit Working Group.
