CPRD is seeking a Grants Manager with strong written and time management skills to ensure the organization is able to maintain and grow grant funding amidst competing deadlines and a fast-paced work environment. The position of Grants Manager entails not only writing grant narratives and filling out grant applications, but also seeking out potential funders, maintaining positive relationships with grantors, as well as handling reports to funders for awarded funds. As a hybrid position, the Grants Manager is able to work primarily remotely; however, some time in the office is expected in order to stay up to date on the organization’s programming and maintain strong connections with all of the administrative teams, as well as working on special events and performances. This role reports to the Vice President of Development and Communications, and success in the position will be measured by the number of grants submitted, grants received, and new grant opportunities discovered.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Manage grant tracking, including upcoming deadlines and researching new opportunities
  • Complete grant applications and write proposal narratives
  • Communicate grant awards with the administrative and programming teams
  • Assemble and submit reports to funders for completed grants
  • Schedule meetings and maintain positive relationships with funders
  • Participate in meetings and convey important funding information
  • Collaborate with programming teams to create proposals that meet the needs of the organization
  • Support auxiliary marketing and development needs through proofreading and editing
  • Catalogue relevant data and maintain the integrity of organizational databases

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, most importantly, but not limited to, written and grammatical skills. Applicant should be a powerful and distinct storyteller, able to clearly articulate the mission of the organization and adapt proposals to the expectations of specific funders.
  • Excellent time and project management skills. Applicant should be comfortable and competent at managing deadlines, organizing their time efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines promptly.
  • Independently motivated and able to work well alone, while still being part of a team and incorporating feedback as needed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor. Applicant should do their best to represent themselves and the organization positively, maintaining an identity of personal and professional integrity.
  • Passion for the arts and education. Applicant should not only be familiar with, but also motivated by the mission and vision of the organization
