Tennyson Center for Children is dedicated to helping children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect, and/or trauma so they can bravely, and safely, change their life’s story.
For the past 112 years, TCC’s trained professionals have empowered generations of children and families by providing a child-centered, customized approach to healing through our community-based, school, and residential programs. The primary goal of all TCC programs is to reintegrate our children back into safe families, supportive schools and vibrant communities.
The Day Treatment Clinical Internship is a clinical training program that aims to facilitate student growth, development of clinical competencies, integration of theory into practice, and critical thinking in a reflexive and intentional manner. Through a developmental model, clinical interns will gradually develop, practice and utilize clinical skills to facilitate individual, family and group therapy modalities. The Day Treatment Clinical Interns will collaborate within the framework of the educational and treatment team in developing and integrating regulation skills, coping skills, public school readiness skills, and adaptive strategies to manage trauma triggers and stress responses for children, youth and families. Interns will initially shadow seasoned clinicians as they develop their skills and confidence, with the goal of taking over their own small caseload of day treatment students.
Tennyson Center is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and conducts full background and drug screens for all new hires. In order to be considered for this internship, please include a resume and cover letter.
