About Don’t Be A Monster

Don’t Be A Monster is the largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works alongside Haunted Attractions in the United States. We offer unique and entertaining anti-bullying assemblies for students in 4th-10th grade. Our mission is simple: we work to educate and empower youth to be leaders around diversity, inclusiveness, and show them how to stand up for their friends and peers. Our assemblies are delivered in the months of late September through early November, during National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and the Halloween season.


Our Team

You will be working alongside the rest of the Don’t Be A Monster team, who are spread out around the globe. We will maintain close contact through GChat, Slack, and Gmail. This is a remote position with flexibility to work from wherever you choose!

Your Mission

  • Under the supervision of the ED, the Grant Writer Intern will help with the development of new funding opportunities through local, state, and federal grants, partnerships with business and other philanthropic sectors
  • Obtain funds from public and private sources
  • Responsible for maintaining all assigned grant tracking timelines and deadlines
  • Responsible for assistance in compiling and submitting reports
  • Communicates with Donors, Volunteers and Partners in a professional manner at all times
  • Excellent use of English, both Written and Spoken



  • Bachelor’s degree (or currently obtaining one) in nonprofit management, business, marketing, journalism, english or related field
  • An interest in fundraising and finance
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Expert knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Superior editing skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
