Title: Bilingual Intake Assistant

Direct Supervisor: Homeless Prevention Program Director

Program: Homeless Prevention Program 

Summary of Responsibilities: 

The Bilingual Intake Assistant is responsible for conducting phone intake assessments and triaging client calls and walk ins to Almost Home. The Intake Assistant provides information and referral resources to clients as needed and connects eligible clients to the Homeless Prevention Program at Almost Home, Inc. The Intake Assistant is responsible for data management and data tracking in both internal and external databases and systems to meet grant and contract requirements. The Intake Assistant will also provide general office support for our Brighton location and shelter operations. 

Areas of Responsibility

Specific Duties include:

  • Responsible for assessing the needs of clients calling with challenges related to housing insecurity and linking them with internal and external resources in the community.
  • Compile and review data to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Composing program-related documents and narratives.
  • Coordinate programmatic logistics, operations, and reporting requirements for all Almost Home programs and services.
  • Client data entry as required to meet contract expectations.
  • Compose written materials and maintain spreadsheets in support of on-going program operations and logistics. 
  • Translate English to Spanish documents as needed.
  •  Provide operation support, including meeting prep, including materials development, etc., as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Passion for ending homelessness.
  • The ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude and a display of unconditional positive regard when working with persons experiencing homelessness.
  • Knowledge familiarity with Harm Reduction and Housing First models of service delivery. 
  • Ability to network and build relationships; locate and develop housing resource contacts.
  • Office management and administrative skills.
  • 1. Associate’s degree with emphasis human services related degree or equivalent relevant experience required;
  • 2. Experience conducting intakes and assessments
  • 3. Excellent interpersonal skills and good organizational skills;
  • 4. Experience in working with computers, knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with databases;
  • 5. Experience with high call volumes;
  • 6. Bilingual required.

Salary Range: $19.24-$19.75 per hour

Position Type: Full Time, non-exempt

Job Location: Brighton, Almost Home, Inc. main office.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. flexible schedule
