Rocky Mountain Prep is a family of four tuition-free schools in the Denver-Metro area. Our culture of love and inclusion means that we welcome, support, and challenge everyone with kindness and respect as we work toward preparing our scholars for long-term success. RMP currently serves 1,850 students across grades Pre-K through 5 and currently has 250 staff members across its schools and network support offices.

Role Mission:

The Development & Advocacy Intern will work with the Director of External Relations to galvanize resources and strengthen our advocacy work to achieve our organizational goals. Their work will support the foundation of our philanthropic fundraising efforts and provide critical capacity to execute our family and external advocacy. This internship is an exciting opportunity to develop valuable skills and build meaningful experience in the external relations field. 

Areas of Responsibility

In this role, you will: 

  • Support with the planning and execution of RMP’s fundraising campaigns such as Colorado Gives Day and our first annual fundraising event
  • Support with funder-facing content creation, including email communications, proposals, acknowledgment letters, reporting, and other stewardship outreach
  • Work in Salesforce to update donor data and support with gift processing
  • Research new grant and funding opportunities
  • Work in partnership with the Director of External Relations to strengthen the systems and operational plan to execute our vision for advocacy 
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive to create efficient and effective systems, structures, and procedures, sweating the details, and driving towards outcomes
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for education and commitment to equity

Compensation: 

Salary:

This position comes with an hourly wage of $16/hour and will average 20 hours per week, with a maximum of no more than 30 hours per week. We are happy to be flexible with days and hours as candidates need for school or other employment. Because this is a part-time position, it is not benefits-eligible.
