Job Description: 

Want to make a difference? Join our team of dedicated professionals providing support and treatment to at-risk children and youth facing mental health, child welfare and criminal justice issues. Through our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Staff Secure Residential Unit (SSR), hospital diversion program (New Vistas) and Jefferson Hills Academy, we use some of the most current practices, interventions and protocols to address the complex needs of vulnerable youth and their families.

Responsible for organizing and maintaining educational files of all residents, including requesting records and responding to records requests.

Schedule:  Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm

Areas of Responsibility
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining educational files of all residents, including requesting records and responding to records requests.
  • Responsible for initial and on-going correspondence with school districts and other educational entities in accordance with current CDE policies and procedures.
  • Sending out IEP notifications.
  • Coordinates completion of students’ monthly education reports as well as discharge reports.
  • Take minutes at education staff meetings as needed.
  • Maintains awareness and compliance with all policies and procedures of Jefferson Hills and with applicable governing agencies
  • Maintains educational supplies, ordering and inventory.
  • Assists in completion of Quality Assurance reports as directed by Education Director.
  • Completes other duties as assigned or requested in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical restraints with clients using required CPI techniques

 Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

  •  H. S. Diploma and two years in a related field, plus 2-3 years in an administrative support position, preferably in an education/treatment setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and being able to demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Computer skills including advanced word processing, database and spreadsheet skills.
  • Be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in a confidential manner with a variety of stakeholders.
