About the Children’s Center at Park Hill United Methodist Church:

The Children’s Center is a treasured community institution that strives to provide high-quality services to local families in need of preschool and childcare options. The Center offers full-day, year-round programming for children ages 3-5. We also offer a half-day morning program and an afterschool program. The mission of The Children's Center is to enrich children's lives through play-based learning. Our community of young children enjoy a high-quality and developmentally appropriate learning environment where they thrive socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

The Center was established in 1979 by the Park Hill United Methodist Church (PHUMC) to fill a growing need in the area for preschool and childcare options. We are a nonprofit organization with a non-denominational, developmentally appropriate curriculum and philosophy. Children of all religious and cultural backgrounds are welcome at the Children’s Center.

For more than 40 years, the Children’s Center has served families in our community by providing options that support the rich tradition of diversity and the values of our neighborhood. The Children’s Center is operated by PHUMC as part of its outreach and community service, and it helps the Church carry out its mission. As an inclusive community of faith, PHUMC is an open and affirming congregation, embracing diversity, service, unconditional acceptance, and the care and support of all people. While applicants of all religious and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply, the Executive Director must embrace and embody the mission and values of PHUMC, including diversity, acceptance, and social justice.
