Job Description: 

Atlantis Community, Inc. has been advocating for people with disabilities for over 46 years. As a Center
for Independent Living, we support the rights of people with disabilities to control their own lives by
providing advocacy, life skills training, transition services (Youth, from nursing homes, and diversions
from institutions) information and referral, and peer support. The mission of Atlantis is to advocate for all
people with disabilities to be a meaningful part of an integrated community of their choice.

As IT Administrator, you will be a part of the operations team and a member of the Atlantis Community.
You will maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. This position reports to the
Operations Coordinator.

Areas of Responsibility

Install and configure software and hardware

● Manage network servers and technology tools
● Set up accounts and workstations for new employees
● Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
● Troubleshoot issues and outages
● Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
● Upgrade systems with new releases and models
● Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
● Demonstrate knowledge of assistive technologies
● Assists in budgeting for IT expenses, including the purchase of new equipment and software
● Develops implements a IT plan of updates, maintenance, computer purchases, etc.
● Monitor and respond quickly to incoming requests related to IT issues
● Responsible for computers,printers, servers and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse,
etc)
● Keep inventory of all equipment, software, and license users
● Be the main point of contact with IT vendors
● Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Problem solve with creative and individualized approaches
  • Diagnose and resolve problems quickly and thoroughly
  • Work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete work assignments
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is preferred.
  • Personal experience with the disability community preferred
  • Ability to communicate using American Sign Language strongly preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
  • Must be able to sit for 30-60 minutes at a time at a desk
  • Must be able to practice self-care techniques to avoid occupational burnout
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation: 

Hourly wage- $22.00/hour

Benefits:

This position is part time (15 hours a week)
● Atlantis office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30AM - 5PM and Friday, 8:30AM – 4PM.
Individual schedules will be set during those times
● Remote/office hybrid accepted
