Job Description: 

Want more than just a job?  Want to make a difference in someone’s life?  Angel Concept is a metro Denver charity which provides job training for disadvantaged women by operating a specialty women’s boutique and donates a portion of its sales to various women’s charities.

Angel Concept is seeking a manager for its specialty boutique.  The manager would provide formal training and experiential learning to the trainees, and drive the operational success of the store.  They would work with our many wonderful volunteers and provide a service to our community.

Full-time exempt position requiring early evening and weekend hours.

Areas of Responsibility

Primary responsibilities

  • Delivering skills-development training to trainees within the context of a specialty boutique.
    • Training and coaching trainees on work skills and performance.
    • Training store personnel on new products, product displays and excellent customer service.
    • Serving as a role model of the work performance and behaviors that will enable trainees to be successful employees.
  • Ensuring successful operation of the store.
    • Interact with customers, trainees and volunteers to provide an outstanding customer experience representing the store and its values.
    • Scheduling, organizing and delegating work among store personnel.
    • Attracting customers by developing attractive merchandise displays and recommending purchase of specific products based on customer preferences, current trends and past sales results.
    • Using “point of sale” system to enter inventory, prepare sales reports, manage merchandise inventories and prepare inventory reports.
    • Recommending product pricing based on merchandising results, sales promotion opportunities and buying trends.
    • Investigating customer complaints and service-improvement suggestions.
    • Minimum qualifications and skills
    • High school diploma.
    • Minimum of four years of retail or merchandising experience.
    • Strong and effective interpersonal and communications skills.
    • Competent supervisory skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and in teams.
    • Good computer skills
    • Basic analysis, budgeting, and math skills.
    • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
    • Merchandising skills—including inventory management, display, pricing and promotion.
    • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds of boxed merchandise safely.

      Preferred qualifications and skills

    • Bachelor’s degree or other four-year degree in merchandising, business or marketing.
    • Minimum of eight years experience in retail sales; including minimum of three years in supervisory role.
    • Exceptional merchandising and retail skills.
    • Sales associate training experience.
    • Experience working with vendors.

Compensation/Benefits
Compensation: 

$36,000-$44,000. 

Benefits: 

Three weeks of PTO, plus major holidays.  No health care insurance is available, as only this manger role would qualify, and the manager would likely be able to obtain lower cost individual insurance than we could obtain for them.
