Job Description: 

The YouthBuild VISTA supports the work of the Mile High Youth Corps YouthBuild Program through the development of recruitment activities, alumni engagement strategies, and supporting implementation of MHYC’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.  

Areas of Responsibility

Alumni Success

  • Evaluate and asses MHYC’s recently launched Life After YouthBuild alumni success program
  • Design strategies to enhance MHYC’s Life After YouthBuild alumni success program
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement a Martin Luther King Day service project and other organization-wide learning activities related to service and social justice.

Recruitment

  • Coordinate with MHYC’s YouthBuild team and Development and Communications department to develop an enhanced YouthBuild recruitment strategy using MHYC’s equity lens.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

  • Coordinate with the Manager: Equity & Leadership to develop and implement organizational initiatives, objectives, and strategies related to the advancement of racial equity and inclusion.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience with MHYC’s core population of young adults ages 17-24 years old
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the United States, which will be confirmed using the Federal E-Verify system
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including an FBI Background Check, which includes fingerprinting
  • Technologically proficient, including experience with computer and data management programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Pre-employment drug screen may be required
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation: 

This is a one-year, 12 month, full-time AmeriCorps VISTA position (subject to VISTA restrictions) that pays an annual living stipend of $17,541.16, equating to approximately $674.66 bi-weekly before taxes. $6,345 Ed Award or $1,800 stipend upon completion.
