Location: Hybrid (In-Person & Remote in Adams County, CO)
Compensation: $32,000 – $35,000/year

The Arc of Adams County is an independent advocacy organization serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) within Adams County. It is a local chapter of The Arc of Colorado and The Arc of the United States. Position Summary
The Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining core HR functions for The Arc of Adams County. This includes recruitment and onboarding, compliance, personnel file management, employee relations support, and HR policy implementation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in nonprofit or small organization HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment, job postings, candidate communication, and interview scheduling.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain and organize personnel records in accordance with legal and agency standards.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC).
- Assist in administering benefits enrollment and tracking PTO/sick leave.
- Support employee relations by documenting concerns and helping to uphold a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and update HR policies and employee handbook as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all employee and organizational data.
- Coordinate required training (e.g., harassment prevention, safety).
- Support payroll preparation by liaising with bookkeeper/payroll vendor.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., Google Workspace, payroll software).
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.

The work schedule for the Human Resources Coordinator position of Arc of Adams County can be flexible to accommodate the Arc Adams employee base. The annual salary compensation covers typical work hours up to 20 hours per week.
Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting persons with IDD as well as knowledge of contemporary “state of the art” technology and services.
