Three Strategies to Build an Awesome Board
Course Description:
Nonprofit board’s often live in a very grey area. What exactly should we be doing? Who should we recruit? How do we know if we are succeeding?
This lack of clarity manifest itself in one of two ways:
1) Disengagement
2) Trying to micromanage the Executive Director and second guess their decisions
Course Objectives:
- Clarity of expectations – what I should be doing as a Board member?
- Tools for effective governance – knowing what ‘board oversight’ really means.
- How to be an ambassador for the organization – how to engage with the community and promote the mission.
