Engaging, Supporting, and Managing Volunteers
Course Description:
The process of engaging and managing volunteers in our work can be challenging. Volunteers can be extremely valuable to an organization's mission and can greatly increase capacity of the work. However, in order for volunteers to be effective in supporting the mission of the organization - volunteers need to be nurtured, supported, and given proper feedback. In this workshop, we will explore how to engage volunteers more deeply in the work and when necessary, how to have those difficult conversations.
Course Objectives:
- A deeper understanding of how to engage and support volunteers serving their organizations
- Strategies for providing feedback to volunteers
- An understanding of how to connect volunteers to the mission of the work and the organization

Nate Broeckert
Nate Broeckert is the Manager of Programs at the Colorado Nonprofit Association. Nate has over seven years of experience in volunteer management. Nate served with City Year Denver for three years where he supervised and managed AmeriCorps members serving a year of service. Prior to that, Nate was a Community Center Program Director in Jefferson County, where he recruited, trained, and managed numerous volunteers serving in numerous capacities.
