To develop donor resources to enhance the quality of life for the people of Pueblo County.
United Way of Pueblo County funds over 25 different nonprofit organizations each year, impacting youth/family strengthening/seniors; crisis intervention and basic needs/financial stability. We also have two internal programs, our United Way Middle School Mentoring Program, which boasts nearly 150 volunteers that serve as one-on-one mentors for struggling middle school kids. We are proud to have our own Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, that provides free tax services in various geographic areas for those who have a total household income of $55,000 or less. It is an IRS sanctioned program that trains volunteers to provide tax services to those in need. Last year, we leveraged $1.8 million back into the community through this program alone.
