2016 Charitable Giving Reaches New High of $390.05 Billion

Giving USA Foundation recently published it's Giving USA 2017: Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2016.

Giving USA reported that charitable giving reached an all-time high of $390.05 billion in 2016. Giving by individuals also grew by four percent, the highest rate of growth compared to other sources of giving (e.g. foundations, corporations). 

Giving to all nine major subsectors increased - with environmental and animal organizations with the highest estimated increase of 7.2 percent. 

The much anticipated report includes additional details on giving, as well as tells a story about charitable giving during a time of political uncertainty.
