SLICE FAQs
1. What happens if an employee picks a cheaper plan than the employer contribution? Any leftover funds stay with the employer. Employees can use the full contribution toward premiums or eligible expenses if set up, but won’t receive a cash refund.
2. Can employees use a plan not listed on the marketplace? Yes! As long as it’s ACA-compliant, they can submit proof of coverage and be reimbursed—more flexibility for your team.
3. Do all employees get the same plan options? Plan availability is based on each employee’s zip code, age, and family size. Everyone gets personalized options, but your contribution rules stay consistent.
4. What’s the ideal implementation timeline? Start 30–45 days before your desired start date. To avoid lapses, employees should complete elections 10–14 days before current coverage ends. All elections must be finalized by the 15th of the month prior to your benefits start.
