Amy is passionate about opportunity – more specifically, creating opportunities for all Coloradoans to live healthy, fulfilling lives. That passion makes the Colorado Health Foundation’s mission close to her heart. Amy has been with the Foundation since 2008, serving as a portfolio director and a program officer before becoming vice president of philanthropy in 2015. Amy moved to Colorado from Missouri, where she was director of communications and public policy for Missouri Family Health Council, a nonprofit health care organization. She began her career in newspaper reporting and then worked in public relations and strategic communications for a telecommunications company before entering the nonprofit world. Amy’s staff is focused on creating opportunities for health across Colorado – through funding initiatives and programs, partnerships, grants that support innovative ideas, and community engagement. One of the highlights of Amy’s many experiences at the Foundation was the statewide listening tour, when she traveled throughout the state and heard about the opportunities and barriers to creating healthier communities. Education: BA English – Tulane University; Master of Public Administration – University of Missouri.
