Mike joined the Mile High United Way Finance Department in January 2017 and oversaw the Gift Processing and General Accounting teams. In 2020, he became the Chief Financial Officer. Mike oversees a $25M annual budget that includes direct programming, donor designated giving, and grantmaking.
Prior to arriving in Denver, he was Chief Financial Officer of a mid-sized human services nonprofit in Chicago’s south side. Mike comes from a public accounting background having worked at Ernst & Young, LLP in New York and Chicago for 10 years in the Audit and Assurance practice of the Financial Services Office, working mostly on private equity and venture capital clients.
Mike received his Master’s in Business Administration from Columbia University in New York and his Bachelors in Accounting and Finance from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Mike is a member of the United Way Worldwide’s Financial Issues Committee.
Mike and his wife, Cat, currently live in Denver, Colorado with their son, Carter.
