Pro Bono Legal Match Program
The Colorado Nonprofit Pro Bono Legal Match Program, is an initiative of the Colorado Nonprofit Association and the Colorado Lawyers Committee effectively matching nonprofits in need of legal assistance with volunteer lawyers who can help. Volunteer lawyers may only assist in transactional-type issues and it could take up to 2 months to be matched with a volunteer lawyer.
Participating Organization Criteria
- Organizations must be members of the Colorado Nonprofit Association.
- Organizations must attain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status prior to requesting pro bono legal services.
- Organizations must be located in Colorado.
- Annual operating budget of $750,000 or less.
- The payment of standard legal fees would significantly deplete the organization’s resources.

Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic
The Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic is an in-person event where eligible nonprofit organizations are matched with volunteer attorneys who conduct a complete review of your organization’s overall legal health for free. They review your documents, assess potential problem areas, and address special legal issues for your nonprofit organization.
Please note that the Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic CANNOT assist with litigation or matters that may lead to litigation.

Community Economic Development Clinic – University of Denver
The Community Economic Development Clinic (CEDC) allows students interested in transactional law to represent nonprofit corporations, community-based associations and small businesses. Under the supervision of licensed attorneys, student attorneys assist clients with business law and community development legal needs.

Colorado Attorneys for the Arts
Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA) is a pro bono legal referral service connecting artists, performers, cultural organizations and creative business to volunteer attorneys. CAFTA also offers educational presentations, webinars, consultation clinics and resources.
Colorado Bar Association “Find a Lawyer” TOol
Licensed Lawyer is the CBA’s version of Find a Lawyer, LegalShield, or FindLaw. It allows members of the public to search for an attorney based on the issue they need help with. Think of it as an enhanced, digital version of yellow pages for lawyers.
