Changes in IRS Oversight of Nonprofits

Nonprofits should more carefully answer questions on their Form 990 as a result of the IRS’ changes to the oversight of exempt organizations. These changes consist of restructuring department roles and responsibilities, which creates a more systematic approach to examining nonprofits. The new approach allows the IRS to study all organizations filing 990s rather than by industry.
